Why we must take back the GOP
The Republican Party has a long and honorable history. Representing those who believed in local governance, low taxes, and individual rights, the GOP built a fund of respect and trust we relied on. Barry Goldwater ran as a Republican and so has Ron Paul.
NeoCons used the accumulated honor of the GOP to steal from all of us, canceling the Constitution and shredding our economy and our rights.
There was a time when the GOP stood for the founding principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence. Republicans once accepted the Constitution as the rules binding government, leaving us to exercise our individual freedoms.
The GOP was, for such men as Barry Goldwater, the means for taking those same values into the future.
It can be again.
I was raised Republican. I grew up hearing my father talk about the need to ensure that women have the same opportunities as men; that all wars fought be just. He taught me to look back with pride to ancestors who turned Republican to oppose slavery and for women's suffrage. He taught me to honor my conscience and live a life I would be proud to report to God.
That was changed by the same people who sent us into unjust wars for their own profit, who used our trust to steal America blind over the last decades.
Today the GOP is a morass of opportunists. Such men as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, and others sell the rhetoric of individual rights, freedom, and responsible behavior, for cash, living the ethics of greed.
My friends have urged me to
reregister Democrat. That I will never do. Too much of my
family invested their lives, hopes and dreams for me to walk away.
Their dead voices urge me to a very different course. They urge
me to do all within my power to take the GOP back to its roots as the
voice and hand of justice for all Americans. They would remind
me that responsible people shoot their own rabid dog.
The Republican Party was the party of freedom. Barry Goldwater chose it. So has Ron Paul.
It was my father who taught me you cannot responsibly leave hazards to the welfare of others behind. "Clean it up," my father would say.
We need to purge the GOP of the greedy who have used its power to deceive, steal, pollute, and destroy the freedom and wealth of Americans. By so doing we honor its original purpose and live our own integrity. We must demand accountability.
As it exists today the Republican Party is the enemy, a danger to all it means to be an American. Therefore we must take it back and see that those who misused its power are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
You will hear voices that urge
you to ignore the past and fight the present administration's
policies, which are horrendous. But I say to you that you first
put your feet on a firm foundation. Until we clean our own house we can do nothing.
The big government Democrats now in charge will be reluctant to create precedents that will bind them, too. We will hammer them into action clearing the way for us to realize the promise that made us Republicans and Americans.
Read this letter. Across the country the NeoCons of the GOP are working to silence the voice of freedom raised by Ron Paul and the Tea Party Movement. Don't let it happen. Instead, take action. Sign onto our list.
Taking It Back.
We have the numbers needed to take back the Republican Party. Across the country this is already taking place, with Tea Party Members, Ron Paulers, and others joining the GOP and running for precinct office and for other elective offices.
If having the will, the numbers, and the ideas Americans want were the whole answer we would not need this site. But the fact is the opposition plays dirty. They have tried to steal our movement and, where possible, tried to silence our message and deny us the influence within the GOP which our labor and numbers have earned.
This is happening now around the country. This is the Early Warning System, our Paul Revere Warning, so we can focus on hitting the opposition where it hurts, in the pocket book. As we did with the Ron Paul R3VOLution, we can force the NeoCons to follow the law.
